Climate modeling works
The climate-change denier machine has been
spreading the idea that scientists "manipulated" temperature data to
hide the "fact" that average world temperature was actually warmer in
the 1930s.
Suppose you wanted to know the average temperature of
Europe in the 1700s but only had records from London and Rome. Would you
blame scientists for using a model to estimate the temperatures of
Moscow and Athens? Would that be some kind of "conspiracy"? This is the
purpose of models that make 1930 data comparable to 2014 data.
Climatology
has improved immensely since even the 1970s, when computers and
satellites were just coming into play. People don't realize how much
more we know today. When scientists say that the climate is warming and
models show the cause is the megatons of carbon dioxide we are emitting,
they have the data to prove it.If the planet is not warming, why are the ice caps melting?
These
fabricated arguments paid for by the Koch brothers and their pals show
the weakness and venality of their stand. It is time for everyone to
pull together and do everything we can to slow the release of greenhouse
gases.

Devin Carroll (letter June 29) joins the ranks of arrogant smarty pants who continue to present nonsense and call it science to promote the man-made global-warming hoax.
His purpose was to justify the man-made global-warming shell game that seeks to lower the temperature spike in the 1930s that is higher than current temps. If you take temp records at one every 10 square miles for decades, to develop a record, then go back and create computer models that make up readings at one for every square mile and, shazam, it lowers the spike. An intelligent, educated adult would not call that science, its flimflam.
Real scientists with real degrees in a legitimate science like meteorology won't use hyperbole to describe CO2 levels, they will tell you that the last 200 years have seen CO2 climb from 0.012% to 0.014% of atmospheric gases. It still makes up an infinitesimally small amount of our atmosphere. They will tell you water vapor is a far more powerful thermostat, and is far more abundant.
The man-made global-warming hoax is daily being exposed. Those who have invested in it are desperately and futilely trying to keep it alive.
